What is Windows Vista Flip 3D? - Vista Sense - About Windows Vista

One of the innovative feature on Windows Vista is the Windows Vista 3D flip. It is a feature rich expanded system similar to Ctrl-Tab. Using Ctrl-Tab, you can only see the icons of open Windows. Instead of these icons Vista 3D Flip allows you to watch live animation of rotating Windows.

For doing this press WinKey and Tab. Please note that you need to have Vista Aero enabled to view this. If you have changed the themes to Windows Classic, you won’t notice it. (All default windows installation comes with Aero enabled )

The advantage of Windows Vista Flip 3D over Ctrl-Tab is that you can see live preview of the actions going on each window. For example, if you are copying something and have many open windows, you can use this feature and you will be able to clearly understand the progress without actually opening the copy dialogue Window. Another advantage is that if you have opened many similar Windows (Explorer for example) you don’t have to remember their names any more.
